ATTENTION TRAVELERS: December 9, 2025: The USDA is currently very short-staffed making it difficult to secure certificate endorsements in time for travel. For the past few years, certificate endorsements have been taking longer and longer to secure, but they've always endorsed in time for travel. We've reached a point where they may no longer endorse in time for your scheduled travel. Certificates must be completed and submitted in accordance with a very specific timeline (generally within 10 days of travel) so submitting them earlier would render them invalid. Additionally, the USDA does not endorse on a first-come-first-served basis. They endorse in order of urgency. This means endorsing for travelers leaving the country first, even if their intended date of travel has already passed. Unfortunately, there is no way to expedite a certificate endorsement. For this reason, it is STRONGLY recommended that all travelers purchase refundable/transferrable plane tickets and have contingency plans in place for their travel. It is recommended that you be flexible with your plans by 1-2 days. Despite careful planning and execution of your pet's health certificate, I cannot control the USDA's endorsement of certificates. Thank you for your understanding.
ATTENTION TRAVELERS: August 1st, 2025, new regulations will be in place for bringing dogs back into the US that impacts dogs traveling to countries where rabies is considered a high risk. Your export certificate will no longer be adequate for re-entry into the US if you’ve been to one of these countries in the last 6 months. If your travel is not permanent, you will need additional documentation to bring your dog back with you into the US regardless of how brief your trip is. These rules are much stricter than they have been in the past. Please visit the CDC's website to review the regulations and see if your country is considered “high-risk.” I can help you obtain this paperwork before you leave. These new regulations do not apply to cats.

At StL Travel Vet, I specialize in providing international and interstate (Hawaii) health certificates for dogs and cats for travel. I serve the Greater St. Louis area and will travel to you, meeting you either at your home or preferred veterinary clinic. I will communicate directly with your primary veterinarian to gather any needed medical history and to ensure your pet meets all necessary requirements for import at your final destination. Traveling or relocating with a pet is always a stressful process, but my goal is to ease that stress by ensuring that all of your pet travel documents are in order.
I am a USDA-accredited veterinarian and have been practicing in St. Louis for over 10 years. I completed my undergraduate degree from Saint Louis University (go Bills!) and my DVM degree from Mizzou (go Tigers!). I am married with three young children and two dogs, so life is always busy!
